A true story based on love between a college professor and Hachiko, a beautiful specimen of white male akita inu.
Hachiko was born in Odate (Japan) on 10 November 1923 at the age of two months, after being abandoned, is adopted by Professor Ueno. Between the two comes a love for each other so much that every day with Hachiko and awaits the return of the professor’s Shibuya station, where Ueno takes the train to go to work.
The tragedy happens May 21, 1925, when the professor returned to Shibuya as suffering from a heart attack.
But nothing deters Hachiko that for the next ten years back to the station every day waiting for the boss so that people will notice him and offer him food and shelter.
Hachiko dies March 8, 1935 at the age of 12 years. His death so pity the people who erected a statue in his honor outside the Shibuya station. Every year on 8 April in Japan is organized a ceremony to remind the fidelity of Hachiko.
